With a population of over one hundred and eighty million potential consumer market, with well over one hundred million digital inclined citizens, and over ninety-seven million active social media user, Nigerian based small enterprises which consist of ninety  seven percent of the total businesses in Nigeria, and generate nearly half of the country’s GDP  are yet to take advantage of their technologically advanced population to grow their businesses.it should interest you to note that Nigerian small scale businesses accounts for about twenty-five percent of employments making it the largest employer of labor force. Nigeria boost to host over sixty percent of the total business owners in Africa. interestingly in one terrain. In such a case innovation to survive competition must be top notch and beyond the regular or traditional norm of service renderers waiting for customers to patronize.

On this basis, we came up with a big question of how much Nigerian small businesses are using social media advantages to grow their businesses? this has led us to conduct a survey on Nigerian small businesses and their inclination to social media.

We went to the fields of small and medium enterprises in Nigeria to conduct a survey on the inclination of Nigerian based SME’s to social media, we thought it necessary to pay attention to how much Nigerian SME’s which consist of the largest collection of SME’s in Africa as a whole, are using social media to grow their business. The results were astonishing.
